Lots going on as pet owners gear up for the annual blessing of the animals events and other activities this fall.
This weekend:
From 10-11:30 a.m. Saturday (Oct. 6), there will be a low-cost pet vaccination and microchip clinic sponsored by the city of Rancho Palos Verdes.
The event for dogs and cats will be in the upper picnic area of Fred Hesse Community Park, 29301 Hawthorne Blvd., RPV.

At 4 p.m. Sunday (Oct. 7) there will be the annual Blessing of the Animals at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 1648 W. Ninth St., San Pedro.
Also on Sunday -- starting at 9 a.m. and going to around 1 p.m. -- there will be the 2nd annual Rally Throwdown at 2012 at Highridge Park, 29035 Highridge Rd., Rolling Hills Estates.
